Plein Air Painting 2009

This could be the summer to try outdoor painting.

When and where

We'll be working in, and around, Ambleside Park, West Vancouver
Thursday mornings, 9:00 to noon, five Thursdays in July and the first two in August

I have been running this course in Whytecliffe Park in West Vancouver for a few years.
It's time for a new location. There's plenty of things to paint in that area
and it's a bit closer to 'civilization'.

What we'll do

There will be a lesson on a topic of the day - composition, colour for landscape, trees, perspective, people in the landscape, clouds, water, and so on.
You'll get a group lesson and personalized one-to-one instruction as well as interaction with the other painters.
You can paint or draw in any medium. Beginners are welcome.

Check here for news about more exact details about where we will be painting each week.
Or call 604 836 0457 If you give me your email address when you sign up
I'll send you a message if there are any changes or additional days.

What to bring

You'll need to bring your own supplies, any media. (Call or email if you're an absolute beginner.)
Bring an easel, if you need one, water to drink, a sun hat, bug spray, sun screen, a folding chair, or stool. You can bring a camera too, and maybe a snack.
Some students like to have lunch after the class and stay to continue painting in the afternoon.

How to register and pay

To give you the most flexibility with your summer schedule I'm using a system of 'painting passes'
Each pass is $25 but you can buy five passes for $100. There are seven days to choose from.
Five times in July, and two more in August.
You can buy the number of passes you think you'll use and 'spend' them at the classes you get to.
They expire in September, but you can share extra passes with a friend.
You can buy five or more at the discount rate.

It will be best if you can get your passes ahead of time so we don't have to deal with money in the park, and we can spend all our time there painting.

You can call 604 872 0975 to arrange to buy the passes from me directly or
you can mail me a cheque at:
marilyn lemon, 513 Jackson Ave. Vancouver, BC. V6A 3W2
and I'll send them to you in the mail along with a sheet of handy start-up information and a map.
Don't forget to include your postal and email addresses

Now you can buy painting passes on line

$ 25 for one painting pass

$ 100 for five painting passes
