Expect to leave this course with a different perspective than that you arrived with.
The emphasis will be on the process, but there will also be painting and production, discussion and introspection. This will be a course designed for more experienced painters who are looking for a way out of a rut. It will give participants a challenge to the way each of you do things. We will consider alternatives, ask questions that may not have immediate answers, get answers to questions we didn't know we had. We will look at your intentions and focus on the sort of art work you dream of. We will develop more effective strategies and tools to get there. Once you see your self-imposed limits you can set them aside and be filled with possibilities. There will be both written and painted exercises. The instruction will be to the group and one-to-one.

The supply list For this workshop you should bring a limited selection of the materials you usually work with. This course can be experienced with watercolour, oil or acrylic. You will need whatever surface you usually use as well and a notebook or sketchbook. Black and white photo copies of a few images that you are interested in. Also bring a recent work which you are not particularly happy with, or one that is more successful in your eyes. Or both.
